Salary & Facilities provided to Assistant AFHQ:

• Assistant AFHQ is a Group B Non Gazetted Post.
• Grade Pay 4600 (old as per 6th CPC).
• Level 7 (as per 7th CPC). Starting Basic Pay 44900.
• In Hand Salary is INR 50000 to 52000 (including old HRA, DA, TA). If Modi Government ever gave HRA as per 7th CPC, in hand salary will rise to INR 56-58000. For Salary Chart –See Below
• Canteen Card. Limit for ASO: Rs 8000 per month for things having MRP of less than Rs 750 and a separate limit of Rs 75000 for a year for things having a MRP of over Rs 750.

  

SSC Salary Chart as per the approval given by Cabinet on 28th Jun for hiked allowances. This post contains SSC CGL Salary, SSC CHSL Salary in Hand, MTS Salary Structure etc.

HRA is to be paid at 24% of Basic Pay for X-class City, 18% for Y-Class City and 8% for Z-Class City. And will be increased to 27/18/9 % when DA crosses 25% and further to 30/20/10 % when DA cross 50%.
Least HRA paid would be Rs 5400/3600/1800 (according to city).

Classification of Cities for HRA (House Rent Allowance):
X – Population of 50 lakh & above.
Y – Population of 5-50 lakh.
Z – Population of below 5 lakh.

Posting of Assistant AFHQ:

• You will be posted in Sena Bhawan, Vayu Bhavan, Naval HQ etc.
• Delhi in 99% cases.
• However you can go on deputation in other Regional HQs if you wish to.

Job Description/Work Profile for Assistant AFHQ:

• Basic Noting/Drafting.
• Very easy office work, you can take your time to complete a work.

Career Path/Promotions for Assistant AFHQ:

• 1^st Promotion: Section Officer in 8-10 Years.
• 2^nd Promotion: Deputy Director in 5-6 Years.
• 3^rd Promotion: Joint Director in 6-7 Years.
• 4^th Promotion: Director in 5-6 Years.

Pros:

• Fixed working hours 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Low to Moderate Workload.
• Peace of mind for most of the time.
• Corruption Free Job.
• Promotion after becoming Deputy Director is very fast as per current scenario.

Cons:

• You will work with Service Officers (Brigadier, Colonel, Squadron Leader, Commodore etc). Some are kind/good while some will make your life hell.
• Direct Recruitment at SO level through UPSC made promotions slower. Generally take 8-10 years to become SO from ASO.
• Gadgets such as Smartphones, Storage Devices(Pen drives, Memory Card, CDs) are not allowed in some departments. Though a basic mobile without camera is allowed.
• No adventure. Boring Job.
• No Power at any level.
